GROWTH OF  PSG MATRICULATION SCHOOL (PSG MS)

At a time when education was an unfulfilled dream for most people, one man’s vision transformed the dream into a reality. 

According to the Scheme of Administration (Refer pg.no: 19, second para) as decreed in the Court of The Subordinate Judge of Coimbatore, Mr. R. K. Parthasarathi Ayyangar B.A., B.L (Principal Subordinate Judge) it is clearly noted that, the Board, P.S. Govindaswamy Naidu & Sons’ Charities, is empowered to take whatever steps are necessary for the establishment of other Elementary schools within the District of Coimbatore and to allot and provide funds for the maintenance and upkeep. The Board has also power to provide financial aid in its discretion to elementary schools established within the District of Coimbatore. The Board shall have power to start and conduct basic or nursery schools within the District of Coimbatore and to allot funds for the purpose.

The 23rd School Committee Meeting of PSG Primary School, Peelamedu was held at PSG Primary School, Peelamedu on 18.02.2009 (Wednesday) at 5.00 p.m. It was resolved (resolution no:3 (03)) to study the feasibility of starting  English medium so that the children will be admitted to Std VI in PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School after their primary education.  PSGCS was started with classes Pre-KG, LKG and UKG with 29 children with two teachers and one non- teaching staff and was functioning in PSG Primary School campus for two years (2009 -2011).

The school started functioning in the students’ hostel building of PSG & Sons’ Charities which was on the northern side of Sri Karivardharaja Perumal Temple from 2011 to 2013.

The approval for the new school building plan (Building Licence) was granted to PSG & Sons’ Charities to construct a new building in the place of the students hostel, as per the plan approved by the Proceedings of the Commissioner Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, Coimbatore, Mrs.G.Latha I.A.S. 

Based on the local needs and the demand from parents of the children, the management took the initiative of upgrading the PSG Children’s School to PSG Matriculation School which became a reality on 08.08.2023.

The inaugural function of the school was held in a grand manner on November 13, 2015. R.Chinnaswamy, MLA of  Singanallur Constituency, inaugurated the school building in the presence of the Managing Trustee, L. Gopalakrishnan, and the function was well attended by the dignitaries and the general public.
